TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community-based training and team-placement program for young athletes with physical or intellectual disabilities. Sessions are run by local clubs with trained volunteer buddies, adapted to each player, and built around participation rather than results. It is a real part of the Michigan soccer landscape and the pathway most families never hear about — so if a club near you runs it, that is worth knowing.

If your child has a disability and you have been told soccer isn't an option, it is. Ask MSYSA or your nearest club whether they run TOPSoccer, and ask what adaptations they can make — the program is designed around the player, not the other way round.
